Jasper is new to AACT. They were homeschooled their entire life and spend most of their free time binge-watching comedies. They use their experience watching rom-coms to advise their friends, although they’ve never been in a real relationship themselves. Without going to a normal school, Jasper is confused about their academy and their interests. So, they surround themselves with friends from each academy as they all try to convince him to join up. They’ve been spoiled rotten by their parents and being an only child as just added to that. Their parents want nothing but the best for them and spend every minute watching over their sweet baby.
Arthur (Artie) is a Graphic Design kid in Comm Arts. He has an addiction to coffee, tea, and indie animation. He never really knew his parents because they abandoned him and his twin brother, Olivera (Ollie), to be travel photographers. He and Ollie were raised by their grandma. Ollie, the golden boy, has always been her favorite, and Artie always strives for her validation. His biggest inspiration was his grandpa, a World War II pilot and part-time photographer. (Photographers run in the family). He’s only heard stories about him because he died in the war, but he’s always been Artie’s idol. He came to AACT freshman year with his best friend, Winston. They met in middle school when Winston let him cheat off of him in math. Artie wants to be a well-known animator in the future. Even though he’s awful at math and science, he puts all of his effort into his art, the thing that really makes him happy.
Benjie is in business, but not by choice. Everyone knows him as the sarcastic kid who never smiles unless it’s at someone else’s suffering. He mocks people for existing, especially if they’re an artist. He tells himself he’s superior but actually constantly doubts himself. As the heir to his parents’ large oil company, he knows the weight of the world is on his shoulders. He’s an only child and constantly tries to live up to his parents’ reputation but fears that he’ll always be in their shadow. He secretly has an obsession with classic rock and taught himself to play the guitar. He seems cold and calculated on the outside, but he’s a fiercely loyal friend who would never let someone he cares about down.
Ramsay is a culinary kid. He loves metal music, but his mom thinks he’s going to become deaf from listening to it. To prevent disturbing his eight siblings, he has to listen to his music through headphones. When Ramsay isn't listening to music, he is jamming out with Elanore, his best friend and secret crush. Being the eldest sibling and basically third parent, he has gained parental instincts extending to the group, where he’s clearly the mom friend. He truly cares about everyone around him and strives the keep them all happy and healthy. He feels very loved by his parents, but he sometimes feels alienated from his dad, a retired pro skier. Ramsay hates skiing and the cold in general, but the rest of his family seem to be unable to live without annual ski trips. In order to save his family from letting his mom burn down the house or eating his dad's superb but overused meatloaf, Ramsay took it on himself to feed all eleven of them. It’s a big responsibility, but he’s proud of himself for the life he and his family have created.
Winston is in the Engineering academy. He spends all his free time coding or playing video games with his online friends. His dad is a rich CEO of a tech company and puts a lot of pressure on Winston to be as successful as him. His dad is strict and always yells at him for his procrastination habits. He is the youngest of two successful siblings and fears the possibility that he could become the disappointment of the family. Winston’s mom died when he was ten, and his dad has completely shut himself off and threw himself into his work. Without a family to confide in, Winston turns to his best friend, Artie. Although they’re polar opposites, and Winston’s dad hates Artie, they still have an unbreakable bond that’s been strong since middle school.
Florence is a Medical Academy student. She plays piano and watches copious amounts of reality TV. She has a complicated family life, with two parents and two step-parents, but she doesn’t feel connected to any of them. Both of her parents are doctors, and the stress of their two jobs combined made them clash too often for a marriage to last. When she was in middle school, she was the star soccer player, and everyone expected her to go to college on a sports scholarship, but then she mysteriously quit, to the dismay of many recruiters. She comes off as very distant and uptight to most people, but she’s terrified of letting people down and losing them. She switched from the education academy after she realized she wanted to help people heal.

He has a single mom who he’s very close to, and a 2-year-old sister who he feels a large responsibility to take care of. His dad is a trucker who spends all of his time on the road, so Wyatt had to grow up early. He intentionally doesn’t talk about the future because he has low expectations for it. Unlike the rest of his friends, he doesn’t have big dreams he wants to follow. All he knows is he needs to take care of his family. He’s the mediator of his friend group and tends to solve everyone’s problems without even realizing it.

Despite being quite introverted, she is the drummer in a band with her best friend Ramsay, the vocalist and lead guitarist. Elanore's secret love of metal music and goth culture started with Ramsay, confusing many people because it clashes with her anxious personality. She's smart but is often overlooked because of her shyness. She was adopted when she was young by her two loving dads after her biological parents died.
